What You Will Do
As a CAT Scan Technologist with Ascension River District Hospital, you will have the opportunity to perform computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists.
Prepare and position patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Observe patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Apply knowledge regarding MRI safety to all patients, visitors, staff members and equipment, including prescreening accuracy and equipment integrity in the magnetic field.
Inject contrast material according to protocol to allow for the enhancement of anatomical structures. Practice sterile technique when injecting patients to prevent cross contamination.
What You Will Need
Basic Life Support Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered Technologist in Radiography R.T.(R)(ARRT) required. Must be in good standing.
Certified in ARRT-CT preferred.
Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program required
No experience required. CT experience preferred.
